Menswear has completely changed within a matter of a few years. Long gone are the days where men dress by the status quo. Multitudes of men are now grooming, dressing, and shopping with a more discerning eye. These men have developed their own personal style in such a way that it has captivated myself, and a slew of street style photographers can concur. I call it a “men’s style renaissance.”
The past month has been all about menswear. It kicked off three weeks ago at Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Italy. Pitti Uomo is a four day trade show held at the Fortezza da Basso where retailers, buyers, editors, photographers, models, and other menswear enthusiasts come together to view the upcoming collections. In June, it was to view Men’s Fall 2014 collections.
Pitti Uomo is the one of the world’s most important fashion platforms for men’s clothing and accessory collections. Pitti is all about the one-on-one interaction between the buyer and the brand. Much more than seasonal trend-setting takes place at Pitti Uomo. A mood is established and for good measure because men are dressing up again. Xx
